5 Must Haves for a Quick Get Away

I often find myself daydreaming. I daydream about how long it will be before I can get away for a few days. Visions of relaxing with a good book and pleasant company occupy my time constantly. However, reality tends to set in and the big questions come to mind such as: What am I going to pack? What am I going to pack all of my stuff in? After all, I’m leaving only for a few days! I don’t want to pack my entire closet but yet, I don’t want to feel any regrets about not bringing what I need.

To combat the feeling of packing regret, here are my 5 must haves for a quick get away:

1. An awesome duffel bag. Once a staple of gym goers , the duffle found a new life as a the perfect getaway bag. Beauty meets function with this piece of luggage!
2. Packing cubes. Packing cubes are must, even if you are using a duffel bag. Roll those clothes into the packing cube and you will be amazed at what you fit into your duffle. For a long time I thought packing cubes could only be used with a traditional suitcase. Boy was I wrong!
3. Perfect toiletries. Do you want to have the comforts from home while traveling? Toiletries are the answer to that question. Purchase the travel sized options of your favorite products or fill travel sized containers of your favorite products and pack. Don’t forget to label your containers if you are filling your own.
4. Tech Tools. A quick get away from home can be used to unplug from our phones, laptops, and tablets. If decide to unplug, you will still need to pack at least one tech tool. Depending on your accommodations for your trip, there may not be enough outlets. Enter a small power strip. You can plug your flatiron, curling iron, and your significant other can possibly plug their electric shaver.
5. Functional Tote Bag. An excellent travel companion to an awesome duffel bag is a tote. A tote is the perfect place to store all of the traditional items of your purse and a tablet if you choose. The right tote bag can be functional and stylish.
