Are you a morning person? I am. There was a time when I was not. The first signs of me becoming a morning person surfaced when I was in college. Setting my alarm clock for a much earlier time, using a planner for keeping track of class assignments and social events , were a few surprising signs. There was no more sleeping late when you attend classes year round. I learned I was going to have to tweak my routines to fit my needs.
Over the years, I have had various morning routines that have helped me become organized and productive. Having routines and schedules have helped me to plan and live my best life.
Currently, my morning routine is the perfect morning routine for me. My first alarm goes off at 5:00 am and ironically, I’m already awake. To remain awake, first, I need coffee.
I read scriptures from my Bible and write in my gratitude journal until 5:30 am. My second alarm goes off and I head off to the bedroom to do some personal grooming and get dressed to head to the gym.
After a quick review of my planner and calendar, I grab my gym bag, fill my 32 ounce water bottle and get into my car. I’m out the door by 6:30 am to head to the gym. I arrive at the gym at about 6:50 am depending on the traffic. After exercising and showering at the gym, I exit and drive home. I usually walk through the door at home at about 8:45 am and I unpack my gym bag and begin working on my top tasks of the day.
How do I plan to create my routines for a productive day? Stay tuned for my next post!
