“To B&B or not to B&B ? That is the question!”
While I was a single, career girl, I often dreamed of spending time at a traditional, quaint Bed and Breakfast. At the time, I thought those places were reserved for married couples wanting to spend quiet time with one another. I had visions of being served a delicious breakfast on a silver platter in our room. Boy, was I wrong.
After our honeymoon, during our first summer as a married couple, I began to miss my family who had all decided to vacation in Florida. Due to my quiet missing of my family, my husband decided to surprise me with our first Bed and Breakfast stay.
The first Bed and Breakfast we stayed at was located in Natchitoches, Louisiana. This beautiful town is known for their plentiful selections of B & Bs. Thankfully, it was a quick hour and a half away from our home.
When we arrived at our B & B we were greeted and soon realized that there were people from different walks of life and with a quick drive downtown, there were shops, cafes, and restaurants. To my delight breakfast was delicious and plentiful and served downstairs on a beautiful, large table of Victorian design.
After our first stay, I learned that sometimes the way you picture something in your mind is not necessarily the way it is actually going to be. It can be a whole lot better than you can ever imagine.
Have you ever stayed at a B & B? If so, please share your wonderful details!!! If you have not stayed at a B & B, please share why in the comments.
